Septic and Drainfield Repair, Alpharetta, GA

imageIn Alpharetta, GA, Action Septic Tank Service replaced the distribution box on the left with a new model on the right. The new distribution box was designed to allow the effluent to evenly flow into the drainfield.

The septic distribution box, located between the septic tank and the drainfield, uniformly delivers the effluent to a series of trenches in the soil. If the effluent is not evenly distributed, the drainfield can become overloaded, which will eventually cause the septic system to fail. You would then see untreated wastewater ponding on the ground.

When a distribution box is installed, it must be level. After time, weather can make the distribution box tilt. If the box is no longer even, the effluent is unable to properly flow into the drainfield. Some of the distribution pipes may become overloaded while others receive very little to no effluent.

Action Septic Tank Service recommends having your septic distribution box inspected yearly. It is important to check that the box itself is level and that all distribution pipes are receiving the same amount of effluent.
